Located on one of the most popular beaches in the Albanian Riviera, in Potam, Tubular Residence is a project that takes extra care of the context where it sits. It doesn’t happen often for a small-scale residential building to be in such a favourable position, close to the seaside, on a property that is currently being used as a private camping area.

The rich Mediterranean environment, surrounded by olive trees, actually dictates the concept of the building, leaving no space for the architecture to impose personal styles and dominate the area. The “branches of the trees” reach out from the natural world and crawl up the facade from the earth.

These ceramic tubular structures serve more than merely as a design element on the façade. They have a functional purpose by collecting water on rainy days and serving as a foundation for planting vines and growing plants.
