The goal of this project was to add an extra floor to an existing structure while preserving its original identity and having a minimal visual impact.

The Empire Hotel was built in 2020 and is located in one of the busiest tourist villages in the south of Albania, by the sea. The mountain and natural vegetation serve as a beautiful background silhouette. So, the additional third floor replicates that natural silhouette and harmonious dance in volume. The ups and downs of the terrace shape a playful new skyline for the renovated structure.

To minimize the impact on the existing building, the façade is painted white and partially covered with traditional local stone.
