The Vala Residence is a seaside building located in the coastal city of Himara. Even though it is situated 15 minutes’ walk from the shore, the concept of the project came directly from the sea. As a result, it gives the impression that it is in an inner-city residential area that is being caressed by a sea breeze.

Vala, which translates to “wave” in Albanian, is an effort to mimic the gentle movement of the sea waves that come and go. The waves’ gentle touch on the building façade sculpts the strange curved shapes that transform into balconies with a view.
